Back in the 70s, America sent Shaft to Africa, and Italy responded by sending its Piedone character! The overall feel of the soundtrack is a bit lighter than that of Shaft In Africa, but it's definitely in similar territory -- using plenty of sweet electric 70s cop show themes along side some nicely-cast "African" styles that bring in some cool rhythmic play to the best tracks. The CD features a whopping 26 tracks in all, and represents the first-ever album release of the material -- which only ever graced a 2-sided single back when the film was released. Titles include "In Africa", "On Action", "African Night Club", "Monkey", "Running", "Freedom", "Diamonds", and "Piedone L'Africano".
