Thanks, man. I feel the same way. The fact that he actually did it is fabulous .. and the stories he told were mindblowing and just the tip of the iceberg, since one hour isn't really much time. We'll definitely have him back sometime in the future for more stories .. and I can't wait for his book.

Next guest on the show ... RAMP!

Oufffffffffff Ramp in Paris was the bomb, can't wait to hear what they have to say.

You definitely have to keep on digging those untold stories with Leroy. It's great to hear him talk.

I loved the tone of the interview! Leroy Hutson seems to be a very nice and outgoing guy, he is very greatful for the career he had (and still have apparently, I am curious to read his to be released book) and the people he worked with.
What a great part of the interview when he talks about the creation of the song The Ghetto with Donny Hathaway. Quite moving.

When he talked about "The Ghetto", he really turned it into a very interesting story. I also like his recent remake of the song and I am curious about his new Soul album.

I've been in touch with him for some years now, and he's definitely a very humble, down-to-earth guy, just as you would expect from someone who creates such positive music.

Last week's mix here -

http://wrir.org/x/modules/news/article.php?storyid=8691

We faced a bit of a problem on that show .. one of the turntables in the studio didn't work properly and nobody had noticed it (because most radio stations don't play vinyl anymore, sadly). We had to improvise, which resulted in me playing a mix by my buddy Ryuhei from Tokyo. Last time I was in Japan, he gave me a pretty hot mix of his .. enjoy!

We'll be back this Friday, Jan. 9th, and we'll do an All 1970s Funk show, which should be interesting for a lot of people here ..

Note that LONNIE LISTON SMITH will be with us in the studio on Jan 23rd, and we're happy to announce that MARVA WHITNEY and THE NEW BIRTH will be among our guests in February, and RAMP in March.

"You're the man was the title track for an album scheduled to be released in 1973. But it turned out to be too political for Marvin who then envisioned a love album. Th album turned out to be "Let's get it on". "You're the man" was only released as a single with no promotion.

As it seem to me you got a lot to say about mps, may i ask you this question:

Why does the " Live fom onkle po " (Peter herbolzeimer ) is still not repressed on lp, and neither on cd ? :qleft1:

It's a total bomb, and MPS has already repressed a few ones, but why not this one ? :smile21:

Cheers
